Refund policy

BishopSound Returns & Refund Policy

Effective Date: 25 July 2026

At BishopSound, we want you to buy with confidence.

We understand that, occasionally, products need to be returned. Whether you've changed your mind, received a faulty item or simply need our advice, we'll always aim to make the process as straightforward, fair and transparent as possible.

If you're unsure whether a return is necessary, please contact our team first. Many technical issues can be resolved quickly through advice on installation, amplifier configuration, DSP settings or product setup, saving both time and unnecessary shipping costs.

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under the laws of England and Wales.

  1. Consumer Returns (Online, Telephone & Email Orders)

If you purchase goods as a Consumer through our website, by telephone or by email, you have the right to cancel your order under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

You have 14 calendar days from the day after receiving your goods to notify BishopSound that you wish to cancel your order.

Once you have notified us, you have a further 14 calendar days to return the goods.

Returned goods should, where reasonably possible:

  • Be complete.
  • Include all accessories, manuals and supplied components.
  • Be returned in their original packaging where available.
  • Be suitably packaged to prevent damage during transit.

Customers are responsible for arranging and paying the return carriage unless otherwise agreed in writing or where BishopSound is legally required to cover those costs.

We recommend using a tracked and appropriately insured delivery service, particularly for higher-value items.

Refunds will normally be processed within 14 days of receiving the returned goods (or evidence that they have been returned) using the original payment method.

Where goods have been handled beyond what is reasonably necessary to establish their nature, characteristics or functionality, BishopSound reserves the right to make a reasonable deduction from any refund to reflect any reduction in value.

The original standard outbound delivery charge will also be refunded where required by law. Premium delivery upgrades are non-refundable.

  1. Business Customer Returns

Business Customers do not have an automatic right to return correctly supplied goods simply because they are no longer required.

However, we understand that genuine ordering mistakes occasionally happen and will consider each request fairly and individually.

Where a return is authorised:

  • Return carriage remains the responsibility of the customer unless agreed otherwise.
  • Goods should be complete and, where possible, unused and suitable for resale.
  • BishopSound may apply a reasonable restocking charge to cover inspection, testing, repackaging and administration costs. Any applicable charge will be confirmed before the return is authorised.
  1. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Goods

Please inspect your order as soon as reasonably practicable after delivery.

If your goods arrive damaged, faulty or incorrect, please contact us as soon as possible.

To help us resolve the issue quickly, we may ask for:

  • Your order number.
  • A description of the issue.
  • Photographs of the product.
  • Photographs of the packaging.
  • Videos where appropriate.

If the goods are confirmed to be faulty, damaged, not as described or otherwise fail to meet your statutory rights, BishopSound will arrange collection of the goods or reimburse the reasonable cost of returning them, as appropriate.

Please do not arrange the return of faulty goods without contacting BishopSound first. In many cases we can provide a prepaid returns label, arrange collection or agree the most appropriate method of return.

Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Where goods are faulty, not as described or otherwise fail to meet the requirements of that Act, BishopSound will provide the appropriate remedy in accordance with your legal rights.

  1. Before Returning Goods

Please do not return products without contacting BishopSound first.

Many issues can be resolved through technical advice, replacement parts or troubleshooting, avoiding unnecessary delays and shipping costs.

Where a return is required, we will provide instructions explaining how and where to return your goods.

  1. Returning Your Goods

Unless the goods are faulty, damaged, not as described or we have agreed otherwise:

  • Customers are responsible for arranging suitable return transport.
  • Goods remain the customer's responsibility until safely received by BishopSound.
  • We recommend retaining proof of postage or collection until your return has been received and processed.

Products should be packaged securely in the original packaging to prevent damage during transit.

Where goods cannot reasonably be returned by standard parcel services due to their size or weight, BishopSound will agree an appropriate return method with the customer before any return is arranged.

  1. Refunds

Where a refund is due, it will normally be issued using the original payment method.

Refunds are generally processed within 14 days of receiving the returned goods or acceptable evidence that they have been returned.

If a deduction is made because goods have been handled beyond what is reasonably necessary, we will explain the reason.

  1. Exchanges

If you would like to exchange a product for a different model or specification, please contact our team.

Where possible, we will always try to help arrange an exchange, although this may depend on product availability and any price difference.

  1. Non-Returnable Products

Unless faulty or required by law, we may be unable to accept returns of:

  • Special order products.
  • Bespoke or made-to-order items.
  • Products manufactured or modified to a customer's specification.
  • Goods that have been installed, permanently modified or damaged after delivery.
  • Software or digital content where access has been provided or downloaded.
  • Items returned in an unsaleable condition due to misuse or inadequate packaging.
  1. Warranty Returns

If your product develops a fault within the applicable warranty period, please refer to the BishopSound Warranty Promise.

Warranty claims are handled separately from change-of-mind returns and may involve repair, replacement or other appropriate remedies depending on the circumstances.

  1. Need Help?

If you're unsure whether your product is suitable for return, or you simply need technical advice, our team will always be pleased to help.
